Spring Revisited vs. Kenny Dope: The 45 Mixes (7" Vinyl)
Pre-Order / Releases 24 April
We were thrilled when Kenny Dope - the legendary producer and DJ - decided to become such a central part of our Spring Revisited series. Today, we are unleashing a very special new 7” single release, which gathers up two 7" edits that he created for us: Spring Revisited vs. Kenny Dope - The 45 Mixes.
It pairs an edit of his mix of ‘Mucho Macho’ by Macho with the mix of Millie Jackson’s ‘Don’t Send Nobody Else’, he created with Swedish producer Magnus Frykberg. Macho was an alias for the mighty Fatback Band, who are central to the Spring legacy, led by the great Bill Curtis (and co-writer of Mucho Macho), while Millie Jackson is one of the great voices of modern soul. Soulful and dance-floor ready, this 7” arrives fittingly in time for spring.
Spring Revisited is a joint project from Acid Jazz and Ace Records, exploring the legacy of Spring Records with a series of new mixes from the biggest names in dance music and remix production. After a run of sell-out 12” singles, a one-off 45 and a 2LP compilation last year, we’re thrilled to return with this new 7”.
