GLORIA SCOTT
Gloria Scott may not be a household name, but she has her own unique story within the history of soul music. Discovered by Sly Stone, she worked with Ike and Tina Turner in the Ikettes and toured with the Supremes, before making classic, collectable soul records of her own. Produced by Barry White, her 1974 album ‘What Am I Gonna Do’ is regarded as a genre classic. She releases her first album in 48 years on Acid Jazz, ‘So Wonderful’, on 30 September, following a 7-inch single version of the gospel-house classic ‘Promised Land’.
