Chris Bangs and Mick Talbot are hugely significant figures in the Acid Jazz story. Chris actually coined the term ‘acid jazz’ at a ‘Special Branch’ club night, and has released on the label with Quiet Boys and as a solo artist. Meanwhile, Mick, founding member of The Style Council, played on one of the rarest and most valuable Acid Jazz 7-inch singles as ‘King Truman’ back in 1988. Having previously recorded as Yada Yada, 2022 saw the release of their first billed collaboration: Chris Bangs & Mick Talbot – ‘Back To Business’, off the back of the 7” single ‘Sumthin’ Else’, celebrating the mod club jazz sounds that are at the backbone of their DNA.
