Out today on Acid Jazz‘s sister label People Tree is the critically acclaimed debut album by Matt Deighton of Mother Earth ‘Villager‘. The original 1995 release is a seductive mix of English folk and jazzy elements, and gave the guitarist who later played with Paul Weller and Oasis, a surprise hit on release. For its reissue this quiet masterpiece has been remastered and joined by the only live performance of the songs from the album’s launch party at the legendary Blue Note Club in Hoxton Square.
