The Elements - on Acid Jazz Records
“New To Q” session on Q Radio
“Endorsed by P.P. Arnold, this Brum band, with Daltreyesque vocalists Andy Bennett and Lee Burn, meld ‘60s Mod with freak-beat psychosis.”
Clark Terry, Mojo (No 5 in Mojo’s current top 10)
Acid Jazz Records’ latest signing, Birmingham quartet The Elements, spent three weeks in the top ten of the indie charts with their fantastic debut single Caught In A Storm earlier in the summer. Coming out on Monday 6th October 2008, the highly anticipated album will be available on CD as well as digital download.
The band, who feature sometime Ocean Colour Scene members Andy Bennett and Tim Jaques, supported The Inspiral Carpets at the Shepherds Bush Empire, Paul Weller in Birmingham and Ocean Colour Scene on tour and have added a whole host of gigs and radio sessions to launch the forthcoming album, titled simply The Elements, due for release at the beginning of October.
Recorded at the tail end of 2007, the eponymous debut album continues in the great brumbeat rock tradition - a classic mix of fierce guitars, a thunderous rhythm section and sweet vocal harmonies (one of the band’s hallmarks).
Already championed by Mojo and Q, the album release should see the band moving up a level. Check the website for the latest gigs.
